26 Janyary 2008 the 17th Moscow Open Kendo Championship – the first in this year. Two teams from FEDERATION participated the Championship:

Unfortunately, Yelizaveta Golubeva couldn’t take part in competition because of leg trauma – that caused the team incompleteness. But Roman Tyunyakin – the Voronazh kendoka – kindly consent to help our girls and to become the fifth in the team.
Both teams competed with dignity. Gekken-2 was the second to pass the pool. Marina Magulskaya had a great success: she won the combat with her male adversary from Nizhniy Novgorod. After the pools our girls contend with MosKenKai team and failed but in fitting manner.
Gekken – 1 had passed the pool and reached the final, but, unfortunately, yielded to mentioned MosKenKai team in the 6th extra combat.
RESULTS:
1st place – MosKenKai (Ozersky, Otvodny, Magnushevsky, Chmyhov, Tsoi)
2nd place – Gekken – 1 (Trofimov, Korzhov, Tsumamoto, Borichev, Zhukov)
3rd place – Rostov-on-Don (Serdyukov, Borts, Murzin, Safonov, Kazakov)
3rd place – Budokan (Kastyrin, …, Konstantinov)
